2007 Grants — Picture This

This creative grant proposal is an extension of an existing SEF enabled program that allows teachers and students to meet proposed state standards in technology while enhancing the experience in other areas such as Science and Language arts. With available matching funds, this grant of $2,200.00 will allow for every classroom to have its own digital camera – 32 classrooms in all. These cameras will provide a versatile learning tool to these classrooms for many years to come.
Cameras purchased through previous grant monies have become an integral part of the Nature Trail learning at Floral Street School. Visual imagery has enhanced the learning experiences as students study soil and rocks, changes in the weather over time, and extend their knowledge of local trees and their changes season to season.
These cameras will become part of the curriculum in Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, Math, and Technology.
This was a unique opportunity to make possible a program that is not only sustainable, but has impact across an entire school.
