2007 Grants — Language Through Lyrics

This grant SEF grant of $1,900.00 will allow for the creation of audio CD’s that will help teach children at the Parker Road preschool speech and language concepts.  Children naturally enjoy music and these songs will teach concepts that are normally difficult for children to retain without repetition. 

The goals include teaching appropriate syntax and grammar, promoting social skills through group interaction, and enhancing audio memory skills.

 

These songs will be presented in class along with props and visual supports as necessary.  These CD’s will be used in every classroom at the preschool, with impact to over 150 students year after year.
